Cordless Electric Push Mowers
Cordless Electric Push Mowers: Introduction
If you have a larger lawn than a corded mower can reach, but you still want all of the benefits of an electric mower, or if you have a lot of trees and bushes for a cable to get tangled around, then you should consider the option of buying a cordless electric push mower. The downsides to using a cordless mower are the recharging time and the limited amount of mowing time per charge. Rechargeable batteries can take several hours to recharge so you need to assess if the length of mowing time per charge is going to be sufficient for your lawn care needs.
On average a 24-volt mower’s charge will allow it to run for up to one-and-a-half hours. This is usually enough time to mow an area of up to one third of an acre. A 36-volt mower’s charge will enable it to run for about three hours and mow an area of approximately one half of an acre. One other thing to keep in mind is that onboard batteries make cordless electric push mowers heavier than corded ones, so they can require a little extra strength and effort to push uphill. They are not self propelled so if you have a lawn that has steep hills you may want something with a little less weight or more power. However, if you have a small to medium sized lawn that is fairly flat then the cordless electric push mower may be just what you are looking for.

Unlike a gasoline powered mower, this lawn mower is very easy to clean. All you have to do is remove the key and turn it over for easy access and maintenance. The Black and Decker Cordless 24 Volt Mulching Mower is made of sturdy and rugged polymer plastic, so it is lightweight and built to last. Even though this mower is made of plastic, the onboard batteries do add some extra weight to the mower.
If your lawn has steep hills you may want to look for something that is self propelled. If, however, you have a small to medium sized lawn that is fairly level then this cordless electric mower has what it takes to get the job done efficiently.
